POWERING ON AND RUNNING
31
5.2. High-Voltage Trial Run
Set up connections for the main loop according to 2.4. Since the soft starter’s incoming lines do not
have section breakers, it is necessary to power on the cabinet by using the main circuit-breaker on
the incoming cabinet. Prior to providing medium-voltage current, the user must check and confirm all
connections are correct and the cabinet door is closed.
Based on the motor load at the field, the user should adjust various parameters of the soft starter,
allowing the motor to obtain the optimum starting torque.
When pressing Key RUN, check and find whether the motor is revolving according to requirement.
For any abnormal conditions, press Key STOP to shut down. If the motor does not revolve, raise the
pickup voltage to increase the starting torque.
In case of faults during running, identify the reason by referring to 6.2. Pressing Key STP or closing
the external control terminal RET can perform a reset.
5.3. Data Display in Running
Phase B current is displayed after running.
During running, use Key to have the maximum starting current displayed instead.
Then press Key to display the maximum running current.
If the function code 11 is set to 0, the Phase B current is displayed in percentage; when the code is
set to motor’s rated current, the current is displayed in its actual value.
For a starting time longer than 30s (e.g. for blower fan), please use the heavy load starting mode.
