26. Secure the handrails. Diagram 16. Align the handrail base mounts with the
handrail bracket. Insert two bolts (F) and washers (G) and finger tighten.
Repeat this step for the opposite handrail.
a. Check the gap in the handrail clamp. Refer to Diagram 15, inset.
b. While maintaining the gap between 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch, tighten the bolts
in the handrail clamp using the hex key provided.
c. Return to the bolts (F) in the base of the handrails and tighten each securely
using a 9/16-inch socket extension and wrench.

27. Attach the bracket cover by taking the following steps. Diagram 17. Note
that protrusions inside the front of the bracket cover help secure the cover to
the upright support. See inset in Diagram 17.
a. Position the bracket cover so that the protrusions inside the cover “latch”
onto the front of the upright support bracket.
b. Lower the bracket cover and align the mounting holes.
c. Reinsert the two screws, removed in step 21 and tighten securely.
Do not
overtighten or you may inadvertently crack the plastic mounts.
