cut through the edge of the plate start moving evenly in the
direction you wish to cut.
2.1 Sparks and debris will spray upwards from the cut until
the plasma arc burns through the metal. The sparks
and debris will then spray downwards from the cut.
2.2 Press and hold the trigger instead of a series of rapid
trigger presses. This can damage the pilot arc system
and workpiece.
3. Move the torch along the metal at a constant speed to cut.
Keep the torch at a 90° angle (Fig. 9). Slow the cutting
speed to allow the torch to
cut through the metal, if
sparks start to spray
upward. Moving too slow
will affect the quality of the
cut or cause the arc to
break up.
4. Release the trigger after the cut is complete. The air
flow will continue for 30 seconds to cool the torch head.
(Fig. 10).
OPTIONAL CUTTING GUIDES
There are two cutting accessories (sold separately) to assist in
accurate welding cuts.
THE PROCUT45 STAND-OFF GUIDE
The feet of the plasma cutting
guide (SKU 8614836) are placed
on the cutting surface. This
maintains an optimal 5/64 in.
distance between the plasma
cutting tip and the workpiece. It
may also be used with a straight
edge guide or pattern guide. It will
help extend the nozzle tip life.
