Overview

This document is a user manual for the RainPoint TTV102B 1-Zone Bluetooth Irrigation Timer and TWG009BW Irrigation Gateway. It provides comprehensive instructions for installation, app programming, troubleshooting, and important warnings.

Function Description

The RainPoint TTV102B+TWG009BW system is designed to automate garden watering, offering both local Bluetooth control via the TTV102B timer and remote Wi-Fi control through the TWG009BW gateway. The system allows users to set up various watering schedules, including normal and cycle & soak schedules, and offers manual watering options. The irrigation gateway connects the Bluetooth timer to the internet, enabling remote management through the RainPoint app. This smart irrigation system aims to help users save water by providing intelligent watering based on local weather forecasts and customizable schedules. It supports smart automation features, allowing devices to execute tasks automatically based on set conditions like weather, device status, or time. The "Tap-to-Run" function enables control of multiple devices and plans with a single tap.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: TTV102B (1-Zone Bluetooth Irrigation Timer) + TWG009BW (Irrigation Gateway)
  • Min/Max Operating Pressure: 0.5 bar - 8 bar (7.25 psi - 116.03 psi)
  • Max Flow Rate: 10 Gal/Min (35 L/Min)
  • Waterproof Rate: IP54
  • Working Temperature: 37.4°F - 122°F (3°C - 50°C)
  • Thread: NH (US) for 3/4" taps; BSP (EU) for 3/4" or 1" taps
  • Power By: 3 AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (for the timer, excluded)
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth for the timer, Wi-Fi for the gateway (2.4GHz only)
  • Bluetooth Range: Up to 60 meters in open areas (walls, iron gates, or bushes may reduce range)

Usage Features

  • App Control: The system is controlled via the RainPoint app, available on Google Play and the App Store. Users need to register an account to use the app.
  • Gateway Pairing: The TWG009BW Irrigation Gateway plugs into an indoor power source near a Wi-Fi router. It pairs with the app by pressing and holding its button until the blue indicator light is solid and the red light blinks slowly. It supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Timer Connection: The TTV102B Bluetooth Irrigation Timer requires 3 AAA alkaline batteries. It connects to the app by pressing and holding its button until the blue LED indicator blinks rapidly (2 times per second). For faster pairing, it's recommended to connect within 1 meter of the timer.
  • Installation: The timer screws onto a garden faucet. Teflon tape is recommended for threads to prevent leaks. The display should be vertical to prevent water accumulation. Hoses connect to the timer outlets.
  • Manual Watering: Users can manually open/close the valve through the app's home screen, timer editing screen, or by pressing the button on the Bluetooth timer itself. The default manual watering duration is 10 minutes, which can be adjusted in the app.
  • Scheduling:
    • Normal Schedule: Allows setting a standard watering plan.
    • Cycle & Soak Schedule: Designed for specific watering patterns, potentially to prevent runoff or for certain plant types.
  • Rain Delay: The timer can be set to delay watering for 24, 48, or 72 hours, stopping watering during rainy days and resuming the schedule afterward.
  • Smart Automation: The app supports "Automation" and "Tap-to-Run" features. Automation allows devices to perform actions based on conditions (e.g., local weather, device status, time). Tap-to-Run enables users to trigger multiple actions with a single tap.
  • Home Management: Users can customize home names, add family members, and manage room settings within the app, which is useful for managing irrigation schedules across different residences or zones.
  • Device Information: The app displays battery status, current working mode, and local weather forecasts.
  • Last Run Time & Next Run Time: The app shows the last and next scheduled watering times.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Cleaning: The timer includes a filter to trap dirt particles. It should be cleaned regularly and replaced if worn to prevent clogging.
  • Battery Replacement: The timer uses 3 AAA alkaline batteries. Users are advised to use new batteries and avoid mixing new and old, standard, or rechargeable batteries to ensure a longer lifespan. Low battery can lead to the timer entering a protection state and not executing schedules.
  • Winter Storage: Do not use the timer when temperatures are below 37°F (3°C). Store the timer indoors to prevent freezing damage.
  • Leak Prevention: Ensure the filter is placed horizontally in the water inlet. If connections are not tight, wrap more Teflon tape.
  • Resetting Devices:
    • Irrigation Gateway: Power off/remove from source, wait 10 seconds, plug back in, then press and hold the middle button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly (2 times per second) to restore pairing mode.
    • Bluetooth Irrigation Timer: Remove all batteries, wait 10 seconds, insert new batteries, then press and hold the button until the blue LED indicator flashes rapidly (2 times per second) to restore pairing mode.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting section for common issues such as the timer not turning on/off, connection problems, hub connectivity issues, and plan execution failures, offering possible causes and advice.
  • General Warnings:
    • For outdoor use only, placing in sheltered outdoors prolongs life.
    • Tighten without tools to avoid damage.
    • Do not subject to extreme force or shock.
    • Never immerse the product in water.
    • Avoid using outside the specified temperature range (38°F-120°F / 3°C-50°C).
    • Ensure the battery tray is dry when replacing batteries.
