FishnderTransducerCalibration
Yourshndertransducermustbecalibratedcorrectlytoachieve
accuratedepthreadings.
Themultifunctiondisplayreceivestheimagefromasonarmodule
whichprocessessonarsignalsfromatransducermountedinthe
water.Ifthetransducerisequippedwithaspeedpaddlewheeland
temperature-sensingthermistor,thesonarmodulecalculatesspeed
andtemperature.T oensureaccuratereadings,itmaybenecessary
tocalibratethetransducer(s)byapplyingoffsetstodepth,speed
andtemperature.Asthesesettingsareheldinthesonarmodule
andrelatetothetransducer,theyareappliedsystem-wide.
DepthOffset
Depthsaremeasuredfromthetransducertotheseabed,butyou
canapplyanoffsetvaluetothedepthdata,sothatthedisplayed
depthreadingrepresentsthedepthtotheseabedfromeitherthe
keelorthewaterline.
Beforeattemptingtosetawaterlineorkeeloffset,ndoutthe
verticalseparationbetweenthetransducerandeitherthewaterline
orthebottomofthekeelonyourvessel,asappropriate.Thenset
theappropriatedepthoffsetvalue.
