amountofattenuationappliedthroughoutthewater
column,whichprovidesabalanceofshallowwater
returns(whereechoesarestrong)againstdeep
waterreturns(whereechoesareweak)sothat
targetsofthesamesizeproduceechoesofthe
similarsizeregardlessoftargetdepth.TheTVG
settingcanbemanuallysetfrom0%to100%orset
toautomatic.
