Seagrowthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,thiscan
reduceperformance.Topreventthebuildupofseagrowth,coat
thetransducerwithathinlayerofwaterbasedantifoulingpaint,
availablefromyourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6
monthsoratthebeginningofeachboatingseason.Certainsmart
transducershaverestrictionsonwhereantifoulingpaintisapplied.

Note:Neveruseketonebasedpaint.Ketonescanattackmany
plasticspossiblydamagingthesensor.
Note:Neverusespraypaintonyourtransducer.Spraying
incorporatestinyairbubbles,andamarinetransducercannot
transmitproperlythroughair.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergenttocleanthe
transducer.Ifthefoulingissevere,removethegrowthwithagreen
scotchbrite
TM
pad.Becarefultoavoidscratchingthetransducers
face.Youcanwetsandthepaddlewheelwithnegradewet/dry
paper.
Note:Harshcleaningsolventssuchasacetonemaydamage
thetransducer.
