Regularchecks
•Checkallmountingsaresecure,especiallythehydraulicram
mountingfoot.
•Checkthetillerpinissecurelyconnectedtorodendandtiller
armorrudderquadrant.
•Checkhydraulicramalignment,asdescribedinthishandbook.
•Checkallpipesforanysignsofwearordamage.
•Checkallcablesandelectricalconnectionsforanysignsofwear
ordamage.
•Lubricatetherodend.Useonlyagoodqualitymarinegreasethat
iscompatiblewithnitrileseals.
Annualchecks
•Checkthehydraulicuidlevel.Theuidinthereservoirshould
bebetweenthe“minimum”and“maximum”levelsindicatedon
thereservoir.T op-uptheuidifnecessary,usingasuitableoilas
detailedinAppendixAT echnicalspecication.
•ChecktheHydraulicLinearDrivesystemforexternaloilloss,
whichmayindicatethatthesystemneedsbleeding.
5.2Bleedingthesystem
Note:Raymarinerecommendsthatbleedingthesystemis
undertakenbyanauthorizedRaymarinedealer.
Beforecommencingensuretheoilandanystoragecontainersare
cleanandfreeofcontamination.
1.Ensurethereservoirtapisinthe“ON”position.
2.Pushthehydraulicrodinsothatitisfullyretracted.
3.Fillthereservoirandslackenthepipesconnectedtothe
hydraulicramunit.DoNOTdisconnectthepipes.
4.Re-tightenthepipesoncetheoilemergesfromthettings.
5.Runthepumpinordertodirectowtothehydrauliccylinder
ports.
6.Energisethecylindersolenoidandslowlypullthehydraulicrod
outuntilitisfullyextended.Observetheoillevelinthereservoir
andtopupifnecessary,usingtheoilrecommendedinAppendix
AT echnicalspecication.
Theoillevelwillrisewhentherodisretractedandmayoverow.
7.Fullyretracttherod,againobservingtheoillevelinthereservoir
andtoppingupasneeded.Repeatuntilnomoreaircanbe
seentoberisingintothereservoirandthepumptakesover.
De-energisethesolenoid.
8.T ocompletethebleeding,energisethecylindersolenoidagain
andrunthepumpinbothdirectionstoextendandretract
thehydraulicrod.Notethatthecylindermayneedmanually
assistingatrsttopurgeanyremainingairinthesystem.
9.T opupthereservoirifnecessarytothelevelindicated.
