Implementationdirectconnectiontobattery
SeaTalkng®powercablesmaybeconnecteddirectly
tothevessel'sbattery,viaasuitablyratedfuseor
breaker.
YouMUSTtasuitablyratedfuseorbreakerbetween
theredwireandthebattery’spositiveterminal.
Refertotheinlinefuseratingsprovidedinthe
product’sdocumentation.
Ifyouneedtoextendthelengthofthepowercable,
ensureyouusesuitablyratedcableandthatsufcient
power(12Vdc)isavailableattheSeaTalkng®
backbone’spowerconnection.

BatteryconnectionscenarioA:suitableforavesselwitha
commonRFgroundpoint.Inthisscenario,ifyourproduct’s
powercableissuppliedwithaseparatedrainwirethenit
shouldbeconnectedtothevessel’scommongroundpoint.
B
BatteryconnectionscenarioB:suitableforavesselwithout
acommongroundingpoint.Inthiscase,ifyourproduct’s
powercableissuppliedwithaseparatedrainwirethen
itshouldbeconnecteddirectlytothebattery’snegative
terminal.
Implementationconnectiontodistributionpanel
Alternatively,theSeaTalkng®powercablemaybe
connectedtoasuitablebreakerorswitchonthe
vessel'sdistributionpanelorfactory-ttedpower
distributionpoint.
Thedistributionpointshouldbefedfromthevessel’s
primarypowersourceby8AWG(8.36mm
2
)cable.
Ideally,allequipmentshouldbewiredtoindividual
suitably-ratedthermalbreakersorfuses,with
appropriatecircuitprotection.Wherethisisnot
possibleandmorethan1itemofequipmentsharesa
breaker,useindividualin-linefusesforeachpower
circuittoprovidethenecessaryprotection.
Inallcases,observetherecommendedbreaker/
fuseratingsprovidedintheproduct’sdocumentation.
Ifyouneedtoextendthelengthofthepowercable,
ensureyouusesuitablyratedcableandthatsufcient
power(12Vdc)isavailableattheSeaTalkng®
backbone’spowerconnection.
Important:Beawarethatthesuitablefuserating
forthethermalbreakerorfuseisdependentonthe
numberofdevicesyouareconnecting.
