PICTURE SEARCH OPTIONS
The most basic way to search during playback is using the forward
or reverse function. This section contains several other options
available for searching a tape.
Search features work well for tapes recorded at the SLP speed on
Model VR344 and the SP or SLP speed on Model VR519.
FORWARD AND REVERSE SEARCH
You can view a tape during play or play pause. Sound is turned off
during picture search.
1. Press FWD to search forward or REV to search in reverse.
2. Press FWD or REV again or press PLAY on the remote
(PLAY*PAUSE on the VCR) to return to normal playback.
SLOW MOTION
You can view a tape during play or play-pause using slow motion.
1. Press SLOW on the remote to begin slow motion playback.
2. Press FWD to increase or REV to decrease the speed of the
search.
3. Use TRACKING up or down to remove any streaks from the
picture.
4. Press PLAY on the remote (PLAY*PAUSE on the VCR) to return
to normal playback.
The VCR switches automatically from slow-motion playback to
stop after a few minutes.
COMMERCIAL SCAN (SEARCH BUTTON)
This is useful for skipping commercials or short program segments.

Press SEARCH once during playback to advance the tape
approximately 60 seconds.

Press SEARCH to cancel commercial scan and return to normal
playback.
