5.3 Conguring and Zeroing the RML2000
1. Congure the E4000 Electronic Register, using the W&M Calibration menu, for the RML meter -- se-
lect “SINGLE” pulse type and “596” starting K-Factor (if meter was previously calibrated, use the exist-
ing K-Factor. Also, enter the meter serial number (omit rst two letters), register serial number, units of
measurement, temperature scale (C or F), 505 LPG product class, name the products if desired, etc. It is
recommended to use the E4000 conguration program and connect thru the HHC port on the junction box
to conrm the correct wiring of the system. It may be necessary, when downloading, to change the setup,
under PC Comm, to agree with your computer’s COM port setting.
2. Check the E4000 junction box, located in the cab of truck, to assure the system is receiving 12-14 VDC
at “TRUCK POWER +12VDC” when the system is powered up, and “TRUCK POWER COMMON” and
“TRUCK FRAME” are two separate connections which each have less than 1 ohm resistance (with truck
power off) from the terminal connection to the negative terminal of the battery.
3. Check the voltage at terminals 1 (+) and 2 (-) of the meter transmitter to assure the meter is receiving
24 volts, +/-1 volt. See Figure 5.1.

4. Connect the RS-485 Adapter Kit, P/N 600324-000, from your computer to the meter transmitter. See
Figure 5.2. Attach the red clip to terminal B, and black clip to terminal A of the meter transmitter (gure
5.1). *** Do not connect clips to terminals 1 and 2 or damage will occur to the hardware ***
