CHAPTER 2
Description of the PSC Console
This chapter describes the functions that can be performed by the PSC Console,
and the components of the PSC Console.
ATTENTION: Only qualified personnel who have read and understood
all applicable PSC3000, PSC4000 or PSC5000 manuals and are fully
familiar with the particular application can set and/or modify the
attribute data of the PSC3000, PSC4000 or PSC5000 controller.
Extreme caution must be exercised when setting or modifying the
attribute data. Setting wrong data may result in uncontrolled machine
operation. Failure to observe these precautions could result in bodily
injury and/or damage to the system.
2.1 Functions of the PSC Console
The PSC Console is used for monitoring control variables and for monitoring, setting
and modifying attribute data of the PSC3000, PSC4000 or PSC5000 Programmable
Servo Control System. Despite its small size, the PSC Console has almost same
capability as large size CRT terminal.
The internal control variables can be monitored in real time. The attribute data are
basic data for system operation. The following are examples of the attribute data:
Data on the machine such as motor specifications, gear ratio, etc.
Set length and target position data
Operation speed data
Conditions to provide various signals such as operation completion signal
Conditions to provide error signals such as overrun.
