OPERATING FAULTS (4/7)
The starter is activated POSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION REQUIRED
The engine will not start. Starting conditions are not ful-
filled.

The “hands-free” card does not
work.
Place the card in the recess provided for this purpose
on the centre console ➥ 2.2 or ➥ 2.3.
The engine cannot be switched off. Card not detected. Place the card in the recess provided for this purpose
on the centre console.
Press and hold the start button.
Electronic fault. Press the start button 3 times quickly or press and
hold.
The steering column remains locked. Steering wheel locked. Move the steering wheel while pressing the engine
start button (or, depending on the vehicle, operating
the ignition key) ➥ 2.2.
Faulty electrical circuit. Consult an approved dealer.
Steering becomes heavy. Assistance overheating. Drive carefully at reduced speed, be aware of the
level of force in the steering wheel needed to turn the
wheels.
Fault with the electric assis-
tance motor. Fault in the assis-
tance system.
Consult an authorised dealer.
Vibrations. Tyres not inflated to correct
pressures, incorrectly balanced
or damaged.
Check the tyre pressures; if this is not the cause, have
their condition checked by an approved dealer.
