34 - Getting to know your vehicle

quired to exit "Electric" mode.
The "Electric" message disappears
along with the warning light from
the instrument panel.
Note: when the traction battery level is
low, the vehicle automatically switches
to hybrid mode and the combustion
engine starts: the disappears
from the instrument panel to confirm
this.
The engine brake should
under no circumstances
be used as a substitute
for the brake pedal.
Maintaining the traction battery
charge level "E-save"
This mode enables you to maintain a
sufficient charge level in the traction
battery in anticipation of certain road
types (e.g. mountain road, long uphill
section of motorway, etc.). It also
serves to maintain range for future
journeys in all-electric mode.
Note: if you are towing a trailer, it is
strongly recommended that you
charge the traction battery and engage
"E-Save"modefromtheoutset,espe-
ciallyintheeventofaroughroadsur-
face.
Activation, deactivation of "E-
Save" mode
To activate this mode, with the engine
started,pressswitch
8
as many times
as necessary.
The "E-Save" message is displayed on
the instrument panel.
Otherwise,the"BatterySaveunavail-
able"messageisdisplayedonthein-
strument panel.
To deactivate the mode, press the
switch
8
as many times as necessary
to exit "E-Save" mode. The "E-Save"
messagedisappearsfromtheinstru-
ment panel.
