Heater Suspension Using Field-Supplied Threaded Rods
The heater may be suspended from 3/8-inch threaded rods using either two- (unit sizes 055–110) or four-point
suspension. The recommended maximum rod length is 6 feet (1.8 meters). The length of the threaded rod extending
into the heater MUST NOT exceed 1/2 inch (13 mm). Ensure that the threaded rods are locked to the heater as
shown in Figure 9.

Suspension of Heater with Downturn Nozzle
Ensure that any unit with a downturn nozzle (option CD2, CD3, or CD4) is installed using one of the above FOUR-
POINT suspension methods. Follow the instructions provided with the downturn nozzle kit.
Piping Connections
Gas Supply Pressure
The unit is equipped for a maximum gas supply pressure of 1/2 psi, 3.5 kPa, or 14 IN WC.
NOTES:
Supply pressure higher than 1/2 psi requires the installation of an additional lockup-type service
regulator external to the unit.
PRESSURE TESTING SUPPLY PIPING
• Test pressures above 1/2 psi—disconnect the heater and manual valve from the gas supply line
to be tested. Cap or plug the supply line.
• Test pressures below 1/2 psi—before testing, close the manual valve on the heater.
