3.1 Removing the Charge Roller Unit and Cleaning Unit
for PCU
Note: The charge roller unit and cleaning unit for PCU are in the Photoconductor
and Development Unit (PCDU).
1. Make sure that the system is turned off and the machine power cord is
disconnected from the power source.
2. Spread a drop cloth or some paper in front of the machine.
3. Open the left and right front covers.
There are four PCDUs (YMCK). The removal and replacement procedures for
the charge roller unit and cleaning unit for PCU described in this section are the
same for all PCDUs.

4. Pull down the intermediate transfer belt (ITB) release lever. (This separates the
ITB from the bottoms of the drums so the surface of the ITB or drum will not be
scratched when a PCDU is removed.)
