1. Plumbwatersupplytothetanklesswaterheater
onthe3/4”MNPTconnecƟonattheboƩom
of
theunitmarked“WaterInlet”,whichisthecold
watersupply.
2. Plumbthebuildinghotwatersupplytothe3/4”
MSPTconnecƟonmarked“WaterOutlet”,which
isthehotwatersupply.
Ifapipecoverwillbeinstalled,makesurewaterlines
tothewaterheaterfit.

ChecklistforPlumbing
පPurgethewaterlineofalldebrisandairby
closingthehotisolaƟonvalveandopeningthe
coldisolaƟonvalveanditsdrain.Debriswill
damagethewaterheater.Useabucketorhose
ifnecessary.
පEnsurethathotandcoldwaterlinesarenot
crossedtotheunitandareleakfree.
පEnsurethatapressurereliefvalveisinstalledwith
araƟngthatexceedstheBTUinputofthewater
heatermodel.RefertotheraƟngplateonthe
sideofthewaterheaterforBTUinput.
පCleantheinletwaterfilterbyclosingthecoldand
hotwaterinletisolaƟon(shutͲoī)valves.Puta
bucketunderthefilterattheboƩomofthewater
heatertocatchanywaterthatiscontainedinside
theunit.Unscrewthewaterfilter.Rinsethe
filtertoremoveanydebris.Installthefilterand
opentheisolaƟonvalves.
පCheckforproperwaterpressuretothewater
heater.Minimumwaterpressureis50psi.Rinnai
recommends60Ͳ80psiformaximum
performance.

gassupplylinetothewaterheater.Aunioncanbe
usedontheconnecƟonabovetheshutoīvalve
forthefutureservicingordisconnecƟonofthe

beforeconnecƟngthewaterheater.Ifthewater
heaterisnotofthegastypethatthebuildingis
suppliedwith,DONOTconnectthewaterheater.
Contactthedealerfortheproperunittomatchthe

x Checkthegassupplypressureimmediately
upstreamatalocaƟonprovidedbythegas
company.Suppliedgaspressuremustbewithin
thelimitsshownintheSpecificaƟonssecƟonwith
allgasappliancesoperaƟng.

includingtheheatermustbecheckedforgas
ƟghtnessbymeansofleakdetectorsoluƟon,soap
andwater,oranequivalentnonflammable

corrosion
orstresscracking,thepipingshallbe
rinsedwithwateraŌertesƟng,unlessithasbeen
