7.6 Connecting controllers
The following steps are possible only with the 6-key hand switch or the 8-key wireless hand swit-
ch. You can interconnect up to eight controllers using the lead. In this way, you can increase the
number of drives columns moved synchronously.
It is also possible to connect a mixture of RKMultiControl duo and RKMultiControl quadro
controllers.
7.6.1 Connecting RKMultiControl duo controllers
Example: You would like to interconnect three RKMultiControl duo controllers. To do this, you
need two connection leads and two termination plugs.
Remove the blanking plug from the central controller. To do this, press the bottom retaining clip
upwards with a small screwdriver and pull the blanking plug out of the socket.
Plug the first lead into socket 4 (see section 7.2.3) of the first controller.
Plug the other end of the first lead into socket 5 of the second controller.
Plug the second lead into socket 4 of the second controller.
Plug the other end of the second lead into socket 5 of the third controller.
Push a blanking plug into each of socket 5 of the first controller and 4 of the third controller.
You should only interconnect controllers with the same software and
hardware versions. Version numbers are on the configuration sticker
(see section 7.9.2).
You must not use RKMultiControl duo silent and RKMultiControl
duo/quadro together in a synchronous system.
