Electrical System
It is recommended that a surge protector or EMS system is used to protect your electrical system from outside influences
that could damage your inverter and other sensitive electronics.
Coach Batteries
Your Roadtrek uses a combination of Lithium and AGM batteries. These are sealed batteries. Do not
attempt to open them. There is no maintenance possible on these batteries.
Battery Disconnect Switch
The battery disconnect switch provides power to all 12-volt appliances, such as the water pump, the
refrigerator, the Firefly control panel and so forth. This switch should be off when you are not using
your Roadtrek, and on whenever you are driving or camping.
Charging Your Batteries
Inverter Charger
Your Roadtrek is equipped with a 3000-watt inverter-charger which converts 120-volt AC (household
current) to 12 volts DC when you are connected to shore power. This 120-volt power is used to power
your 12-volt DC appliances as well as charge your batteries. Whenever you are receiving either source
of 120-volt power, you are charging your batteries.
Under hood Generator
Your Chase is equipped with a under hood generator. This generator operates transparently to
you. There is no special maintenance or usage instructions to operate this generator; it runs
whenever your vehicle engine is on.
