Loading the Stage
To load the tip rack
The tip rack provides the necessary tips packed in tip trays for a purification run.
To load the purification rack
The purification rack contains a processing cartridge with the samples, called source plate, in which the
purification takes place and the output plate, also called target plate. Both plates are hardware-coded to
guide correct positioning:
Insert the right reagent rack back into the stage.
Press the reagent rack into the stage until its outline is displayed in blue on the Stage sub-tab.
Pull the tip rack all the way out of the stage.
Place three tip trays in the tip rack as recommended on the Stage sub-tab of the MagNA Pure 96 Soft-
ware.
Ensure that all tips stand parallel and in one plane.
Ensure that the barcode labels face left so that they can be read by the barcode reader during the re-
source check.
You do not need to remove a partially used tip tray from the tip rack. It is a common scenario to
load the tip rack with full tip trays and partially used ones from former runs.
Insert the tip rack back into the stage.
Press the tip rack into the stage until its outline is displayed in blue on the Stage sub-tab.
Source plate The bottom left frame has a rectangular cut that fits onto an eleva-
tion in the relevant rack position.
Target plate The right front edge is beveled.
