Loading the Stage
5.2 Loading the Stage
The software uses the information defined on the Orders sub-tab to calculate the disposables required.
Use the Stage sub-tab as a guide to place the correct number of disposables on the stage.
To avoid miscalculation, only handle racks when the instrument is switched on.
Gloves should be worn during all handling of isolation reagents and disposables, all manipulation steps
inside the MagNA Pure 96 Instrument, and all manual pipetting steps.
When removing the racks from the instrument, the outline color of the individual racks on the ‘Stage’
sub-tab changes to yellow, indicating that the racks are not present. When you insert the racks back
again the outline color changes to blue.
To load the purification rack
Click the button. The Stage sub-tab opens with the requirements for the order just created.
Pipette the appropriate volume of PCR master mix into the wells of the LightCycler
®
480 Multiwell
Plate 96.
Pull the purification rack all the way out of the stage.
Handle the purification rack carefully because of its imbalance. Do not place it on the load flap, to
prevent it from falling off.
