This
is
where
you
need
to
connect
the
supplied
power
cable.

switch

switch
your
RD-100
on
and
off.

IN/OUT
jacks
If
you
wish
to
control
an
external
instrument
from
your
RD-100,
connect
its
MIDI
IN
jack
to
the
RD-100’s
MIDI
OUT
connector.
To
control
the
RD-100
using
an
external
MIDI
instrument
(se-
quencer,
synthesizer,
etc.),
connect
its
MIDLIN
jack
to
the
MIDI
OUT
connector
of
the
external
instru-
ment.

PEDAL
jack
This
is
where
you
can
connect
the
supplied
DP-6
pedal
that
will
func-
tion
as
Hold
pedal
(to
sustain
the
notes
you
are
playing).
+
This
is
a
stereo
jack,
so
you
could
also
use
a
break-out
cable
and
work
with
two
pedals.

a
keyboard
amplifier
(KC
series),
your
HiFi
set,
a
pair
of
active
speakers
(of
the
Roland
MA
series),
etc.

This
is
where
you
can
connect
optional
stereo
headphones
(e.g.
of
the
Roland
RH
series).
Feel
free
to
use
either
or
both
jacks
simultane-
ously.
Some
of
the
RD-100’s
buttons
have
two
functions.
To
access
the
“other”
functions
(the
ones
that
are
not
printed
on
the
front
panel),
you
must
hold
down
the
[TRANSPOSE]
button
while
pressing
the
button
assigned
to
the
desired
function.
You
can
then
set
the
value
of
the
selected
parameter
using
the
BEAT
or
TEMPO
[+]/[-]
buttons.

[+]/[-]
Buttons
a
Use
either
{+V(-)
pair
to
set
the
value.
Beat
Tempo
As
you
see,
you
can
use
either
[+]/|-]
pair
indicated
above
for
setting
the
value
of
the
selected
function.
But
like
the
but-
tons
that
have
two
functions,
the
BEAT
and
TEMPO
button
pairs
also
have
a
“dedicated”
function:
use
BEAT
to
set
the
metronome’s
time
signature,
and
TEMPO
to
set
the
tempo.
