Pad and Trigger Settings
When a PD-80R, PD-85, PD-105, PD-120, PD-125 pad, or RT-5S (trigger) is connected to the SNARE
TRIGGER INPUT, you can adjust the sensitivity of the rim response.
1.
Hold down [LEVEL/PAN] and press [TEMPO].
[EDIT] flashes.
2.
Press [EDIT] a few times until “ ” is displayed.
” appears in the display, then the rim sensitivity value is indicated.
3.
Hit the pad you wish to set.
The trigger indicator for the struck pad lights.
4.
Press [+] or [-] to adjust the sensitivity of the rim.
Rim Sensitivity:
OFF, 1–20
Making the settings
Setting this to a higher value makes it easier to get rim sounds. When set to “OFF,” playing a rim shot
produces the sound assigned to the head. Increasing the value excessively may cause the rim instrument
to sound as well when the head is struck.
When the trigger type is set to something other than “ ,” “ ,” “ ,” or “ ,” a
horizontal line ( ) appears, and you cannot make adjustments.
5.
Press [EDIT] to continue editing other settings.
6.
When you’re finished, press [DRUM KIT]; the [EDIT] light goes off.
Do not turn off the power without the [EDIT] light having gone out. Otherwise you will lose
the changes you have just made.
When a PD-7/8/9, PD-80R/85, PD-105/120/125, CY series pad, or RT-5S (trigger) is connected to the
SNARE, HI-HAT, CRASH 1, CRASH 2, or RIDE TRIGGER INPUT, you can adjust the relation between
your playing velocity (force) on the rim/edge and the resulting volume level.

Hold down [LEVEL/PAN] and press [TEMPO].
[EDIT] flashes.
2.
Press [EDIT] a few times until “ ” is displayed.
” appears in the display, then the rim gain value is indicated.
3.
Hit the pad you wish to set.
The trigger indicator for the struck pad lights.
4.
Press [+] or [-] to adjust the rim signal level.
Rim Gain:
0.5–2.0
When the trigger type is set to “ ,” “ ,” “ ,” or “ ,” a horizontal line ( )
appears, and you cannot make adjustments.
