6.3.1 Power Consumption
The Following table describes the consumption of the DRM-3000 when connected to an
external DC source of 15VDC with different connections
Condition
Current
Power
DRM-3000 without any detector 450 mA 5.4 W
As above with 3 external detectors 950 mA 11.4 W
As above under alarm condition
With 3 external detectors and flow meter 1.2 A 14.4 W
6.4 The Aux Connector
The Aux Connector provides the following inputs and outputs as per the diagram below:
1. Flow Meter
Pin #10 – +24VDC OUT
Pin #11 – Flow Meter Input (4-20mA)
Pin #12 – 24V GND (Power to Flow Meter)
2. 1 x dry contact, N.O. or N.C. dry contact or 24VDC
For meters with CPS firmware version 1.19 and above, once powered up the DRM-3000 will
activate the solenoid to provide the connection shown below. This upgrade provides the user
with an indication on loss of power to the DRM-3000.
The internal solenoid provides a wide switching range from 10 µA 100 mV DC to 4A 250 VAC
but caution should be taken, especially selection of cables, when introducing more than 24VDC
from an external power source being controlled by the Meter.
Upon alarm condition pin #1 and pin #2 are disconnected and pin #2 and pin #4 are connected.
Simultaneously, depending on the selection of the two jumpers 24VDC will be fed to pin #6 (J4
closed) or the second set of contacts will act exactly like the first set of contacts; pin #5 and pin
#3 are disconnected and pin #6 and pin #3 are connected.
