7.7 - Downhaul
Tie an overhand knot in one end of
‘Part 1’ of the downhaul rope.
Thread the other end through the hole
in the boom gooseneck joint.
Before proceeding make sure the lower sail
slug is in the groove of the mast.
Pass ‘Part 1’ through the second cringle on
theluofthemainsail,tieonthe20mmblock
supplied. Now tie an overhand knot in the
end of ‘Part 2’ of the downhaul. Pass the end
through the becket on the cleat on the port
side of the mast, then back up to the 20mm
block and back down to the cleat.
