Servicing
Risk of personal injury due to preloaded
springs.
The valve is tted with an actuator with pre-
loaded springs that are under tension.
Î Before starting any work on the control
valve, relieve the compression from the
preloaded springs. See 'Relieving the
spring compression in the actuator' in the
'Removal' section.
Risk of personal injury due to residual
process medium in the valve.
While working on the valve, residual me-
dium can ow out of the valve and, depend-
ing on its properties, cause personal injury,
e.g. (chemical) burns.
Î Wear protective clothing, safety gloves,
respiratory protection and eye protec-
tion.
Risk of valve damage due to excessively
high or low tightening torques.
Observe the specied torques when tighten-
ing control valve components. Excessive
tightening torques lead to parts wearing out
more quickly. Parts that are too loose may
cause leakage.
Î Observe the specied tightening torques
(see the 'Tightening torques, lubricants
and tools' section in the annex).
Risk of valve damage due to the use of
unsuitable tools.
Î Only use tools approved by SAMSON
(see the 'Tightening torques, lubricants
and tools' section in the annex).
Risk of valve damage due to the use of
unsuitable lubricants.
Î Only use lubricants approved by
SAMSON (see the 'Tightening torques,
lubricants and tools' section in the
annex).
The control valve was checked by SAMSON
before delivery.
Certain test results certied by SAMSON
lose their validity when the valve is
opened. Such testing includes seat leakage
and leak tests.
The product warranty becomes void if
service or repair work not described in
these instructions is performed without
prior agreement by SAMSON's After-sales
Service.
Only use original spare parts by
SAMSON, which comply with the original
specications.
