Before contacting a service center
If you are having trouble with your camera, try these troubleshooting procedures before contacting a service center. If you have attempted
the troubleshooting solution and are still having problems with your device, contact your local dealer or service center.

Cannot turn on the camera
Make sure that the battery is inserted.UÊ

The power turns off suddenly
Charge the battery.UÊ
Your camera may be in Power save mode. (p. 75) UÊ
The power automatically turns off to preven the camera from malfunctoning in the case that the unit overheats.UÊ
The camera is losing battery
power quickly
The battery may lose power more quickly in low temperatures (below 0° C). Keep the battery warm by putting it UÊ
into your pocket.
Using the flash or recording videos depletes the battery quickly. Recharge if needed.UÊ
Batteries are consumable parts that must be replaced over time. Get a new battery if the battery life is diminishing UÊ
quickly.
Cannot take photos
There is no space on the memory card. Delete unnecessary files or insert a new card.UÊ
Format the memory card. (p. 74)UÊ
The memory card is defective. Get a new memory card.UÊ
The memory card is locked. Unlock the card. (CD-ROM User manual, page 109)UÊ
Make sure that the camera is switched on.UÊ
Charge the battery.UÊ
Make sure that the batte ry is inserted correctly.UÊ
When the UÊ AF Priority function is used, you cannot take a picture without adjusting the correct focus on the
subject. Disable the AF Priority function, or se t the focus accurately.
The camera freezes
Remove the battery and insert it again.
The flash does not work
The flash option may be set to UÊ Off. (p. 45)
You cannot use the flash in the UÊ
or some modes..
The flash fires unexpectedly
The flash may fire due to static electricity.
This is not a malfunction of the camera.
