Usage Features
Getting Started:
- Installation: Proper installation is crucial to avoid damage. The copier should be placed on a firm, level surface, away from damp, humid, or dusty environments, direct sunlight, and extreme temperature changes. Adequate ventilation is required, with at least 10 cm (4 inches) from any wall and 33 cm (13 inches) from adjacent right walls.
- Power Switch: The "POWER" switch positions are marked "I" for ON and "O" for OFF. If the copier is in stand-by, it is de-energized but not completely off. For complete electrical disconnection, pull out the main plug.
- Paper Types and Sizes:
- Ordinary Paper: Can be fed automatically from paper drawers (max. 50 sheets) or manually (single sheet feed).
- Automatic Feed: A5 (8-1/2" x 5-1/2") to A3 (11" x 17"), weights 56 g/m² (15 lbs.) to 80 g/m² (21 lbs.). A5 paper can be set in the lower paper drawer with an optional inner cassette.
- Manual Feed: A6 (8-1/2" x 5-1/2") to A3 (11" x 17"), weights 52 g/m² (14 lbs.) to 128 g/m² (34 lbs.). A4 (8-1/2" x 11") is the maximum size for manually fed paper weighing from 104 to 128 g/m² (28 to 34 lbs.).
- Special Papers: Transparency films, labels, and tracing paper must be fed manually through the manual feed tray.
- Loading Copy Paper:
- 500-Sheet Paper Drawer: Gently lift and draw out the drawer, fan the copy paper, insert it, and push the drawer firmly back. The drawer holds 500 sheets, and paper should not load above the maximum height line.
- Lower Paper Drawer (with inner cassette): Gently lift and draw out the lower paper drawer. Grasp the inner cassette tabs and remove it. Remove the cover of the inner cassette, fan the copy paper, and place it in the cassette. Position the inner cassette so its four protrusions fit into the holes of the paper drawer. Inner cassettes are available for five different paper sizes: A5, A4, A4R, B4, and A3. Place the paper size plate in front of the paper drawer to match the paper size set. Push the lower paper drawer firmly back into the copier.
- Adding Toner: The toner required indicator blinks when toner is needed. Open the front cover, tap the side of the toner cartridge several times, press down on the lever to pull out the cartridge, shake the new toner cartridge, and install it. While holding the toner cartridge, pull out the toner sealing tape and close the front cover.
