Step by Step
Assigning Gateway address
Stay in the "Network settings" menu.
Select "Network access".
Select "Default route".
Enter Gateway address.
Click softkey to confirm entry.
Click softkey.
Virtual LAN settings
Stay in the "Network settings" menu.
Select "Layer 2/3 settings".
Select "Quality of service".
Activate the checkbox at "Layer 2".
Click softkey to confirm entry.
Select "Virtual LAN".
Enter the number of the VLAN, e.g. "0005".
Click softkey to confirm entry.
Click softkey.
It is recommended to enter a gateway address al-
though this is not necessary to operate an
optiPoint 600 office in a HiPath network environ-
ment without DHCP server.

If you are working within a virtual LAN (VLAN),
the "Layer2/3 settings" have to be changed and
the "Virtual LAN Identifier" has to be specified.
Otherwise you can continue as described on
 page 16.
