8.3 Explosion hazard during operation
WARNING
Risk of ignition at stator windings
When
the
motor is not operating, potentially explosive gases can enter it or be drawn into it.
An explosion can occur when the motor is operating. This can result in death, serious injury,
or material damage.
● Supplementary precautions need to be taken before switching on the motor. Therefore,
as operating company, you are solely responsible for assessing the risk of ignition at the
stator windings based on the actual operating conditions (see IEC / EN 60079‑14).
● If the total risk factor is greater than 6, switch on the anti-condensation heating during
periods of no operation and apply special measures. A special measure involves purging
the machining enclosure before it is switched on.
● Seal the openings before switching on the motor in accordance with the motor's IP degree
of protection.

8.4 Switching on with the anti-condensation heating active
NOTICE
Excessive machine temperature
If the anti-condensation heating is operated while the machine is running, this can increase
the temperatures inside the machine. This can result in material damage.

Make sure that the anti-condensation heating is switched off before the machine is
switched on.
●
Only operate anti-condensation heating when the machine is switched off.
