Procedure
Follow the steps below to remove a pluggable transceiver:
1. Remove the connecting cable of the pluggable transceiver.
2. Open the clip of the pluggable transceiver.
3. Remove the pluggable transceiver from the pluggable transceiver slot.
Note
Do not use force
It must be possible to remove the pluggable transceiver easily and without applying any
force.
4. Close the pluggable transceiver slot with a sealing plug.

Notes on 19" rack mounting of the PS598-1 power supply unit
The PS598-1 was developed specifically for use with the SCALANCE XR528-6M and
SCALANCE XR552-12M devices. This power supply unit can be mounted directly above or
below a SCALANCE XR-500 since the ventilation slits are on the sides of both the basic
device and the power supply unit.
CAUTION
Risk of injury if subjected to irregular mechanical strain
The device must be mounted in the rack so that even if there is irregular mechanical strain,
no dangerous situation can result.
