Appendix: Connection of the SICLOCK radio clock
Introduction
Within the scope of the present application, the SIPLUS radio clock was
used.
A viable alternative is the use of the SICLOCK radio clock. This appendix
describes the SICLOCK features in a concise from. These features are
grouped as follows:
• Functionality
• Basic performance data
• Hardware components
• Hardware connection
• Software interface and block parameterization
These points are addressed below.
Functionality
The SICLOCK radio clock features the same principal functionality as
SIPLUS. It is used for reception of the DCF77 time signal transmitter, the
signal of which is demodulated and provided as an impulse for the S7. The
software supplied synchronizes the S7-CPU system time with the official
time received.
Basic performance data
The basic performance data of the SICLOCK DCF77 radio receiver are as
follows:
Frequency 77.5kHz
Band width 400 Hz
Dimensions
(W x H x D) 185 x 80 x 65 mm
Sensitivity
0.3 µV
Connection cable 20 m, firmly attached
Connector type 9 pole SUBD
Power supply via RS232 interface
Operating temperature -10 °C to +50 °C
Protection type IP65
