The SD card is required for operation of the NCU.
As well as the base software for SINUMERIK and the firmware for SINAMICS, the SD card also
contains:
● User data (programs, configuration data, parameter settings)
● Version info (serial number, version, type designation)
● License key This means that the SD card can be inserted into another NCU without having
to change the licenses.
12.2.2 Inserting the SD card
Procedure
Note
ESD: You must discharge yourself at the cabinet or ground terminal before touching the SD
card.
Please proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the power supply.
2. Open the service cover.
3. Gently insert the SD card into the plug-in slot until it clicks into place.
4. Switch the power supply on again.
