2 Safety
The instructions and warnings given in this manual
constitute important information in relation to the product
and must be strictly observed to ensure hazard-free
operation.
If the equipment shows signs of external damage, it must not be
connected to the power supply!
This instrument is powered by electricity. Certain components within
electrical instruments are by necessity subject to very high
voltages. Serious physical injury or damage to property/equipment
may ensue if the warnings in this manual are ignored. Only suitably
qualified personnel should use this instrument.
Provided that the equipment is used correctly, these hazardous
voltages only occur at the mains input and possibly at the Δy
switching outputs of the S controller. All other connections carry
functional extra-low voltages (FELV).
A qualified person should be familiar with the assembly, installation,
commissioning and operation of this equipment.
This person must be thorougly familiar with all the instructions, war-
nings, requirements and precautionary measures detailed in this
manual. In addition, the person must be:
D Trained and authorized to energize, de-energize, clear, ground
and tag circuits and equipment in accordance with established
safety practices.
D Trained in the proper use and care of protective equpement in
accordance with established safety practices.
D Trained in first aid procedures.
