04.97 Programming of Traversing Blocks
N10: The X-axis moves in absolute dimension G90 in rapid traverse to position X10.000.
G00 need not be specified, as G00 is active in basic position.
N20: The Y-axis moves in absolute dimension G90 in rapid traverse to position Y20.000.
N30: The X and Y-axes move in incremental dimension G91 in rapid traverse to position
X10.000/Y10.000. As the two axes have to traverse the same distance, they can both
traverse at their maximum traversing speed (MD31).
N40: The X and Y-axes move in absolute dimension G90 in rapid traverse to position
X40.000/Y40.000. The X-axis has to traverse a longer distance and, therefore, moves
at maximum traversing speed. The Y-axis traverses a shorter distance and must,
therefore, reduce its velocity, so that it reaches its point of destination at the same
time as the X-axis.
In this example, "exact stop G60" is assumed to be the block transition
behaviour. In the chapter "block transitions", the different possibilities of
block transition are described in detail.
As for interpolation with rapid traverse, the override is effective, the
maximum traversing velocity is only reached with 100% override.
4.8 Interpolation with path velocity G01
The path programmed with G01 "interpolation with path velocity" is traversed at the
programmed path velocity along a straight line.
The "interpolation with path velocity" is programmed through the preparatory function G01,
indication of a point of destination, and the path velocity. The point of destination can be
specified in absolute dimension G90 or in incremental dimension G91.
G01 is modally effective. With "interpolation with path velocity", one or two axes can be
moved along a straight line.
