7.1 Preparing food
WARNING! Risk of material dam-
age!
~ Do not use the device to chop particu-
larly hard food such as bones or nut-
megs .
• Wash and clean vegetables, fruit and
herbs.
• Remove stems (e.g. from herbs), hard
peels (e.g. from nuts) and parts which
you do not wish to process (e.g. apple
seeds).
• Use fresh herbs in a dry condition.
• Remove sinews, bones and gristle from
the meat.
• Remove the cheese rind.
• Process cheese and meat only if they
are well cooled.
• Soft cheese (e.g. mozzarella) can also
be briefly frozen.
• For processing with the blade assem-
bly5 and in the blender jug13 cut the
food into small pieces of a similar size
(approx. 2 x 2 cm).
• To process with the grater and cutting
disc16, cut the food small enough to fit
snugly into the food chute2. Food with
a long shape (such as carrots, cucum-
bers, courgettes) can be processed
whole. These are placed upright into the
food chute. They should fill the width of
the food chute as much as possible so
that they are unable to fall over.
