Fitting the quick connector
Note:Thistoolissuppliedwithtwodifferentmaleairlinequickconnectors(Fig.I).
EQ-4–commonlyusedinEurope
EN-6–mainlyusedintheUK
Pleasechoosetheconnectorthatiscompatiblewiththeairlinesystemyouareusingandinstall
asoutlinedbelow.
1. ApplyPTFEtape(notincluded)tothescrewthreadsofeithertheUKCoupling(7)orEUCoupling
(8).Thiswillhelptomaintainanairtightseal.
Note:ApplyPTFEtapetightlyandinaclockwisedirection,soitdoesnotcomeoffwhenthethread
isscrewedintothetool.
2. Removetheprotectiveplugfromtheairinlet.
3. Usingaspanner(notincluded)screwtherequiredcouplingintotheM12to¼”BSPAdaptor(6)
locatedatthebaseofthehandle.
4. Connecttoairline,pressurisecarefullyandcarryoutaleakcheck(e.g.bysprayingsmallamounts
ofsoapywaterontotheoutsideoftheconnectors).
Airlinesttedwithmatchingfemalequickconnectorswillnowbeapushttothetool.
Air supply connection
Thistoolshouldbeconnectedtoaclean,dryairsupplywithwaterseparatorandlter.
WARNING:DonotusetheAirTyreInatorinacompressedairsystemwithintegratedoiler
underanycircumstances.
Donotallowsupplypressuretoexceedthemaximumstated(see‘Specications’).
Ensurethatwaterisdrainedfromairsystemdaily.
Ensurethatallpartsofthesystem(hoses,couplers,etc.)arecorrectlyratedfortheairpressure
tobeused.
Donotusenon-conductivetubing.Conductivetubingwillhelppreventbuild-upofelectrostatic
chargeandreduceassociatedrisks.
Setting tool power
Thetoolpowercanbeadjustedbyreducing/increasingtheairsupplypressurewithintherange
speciedin‘Specications’
Setting up the Air Tyre Inator assembly
1. EnsuretheAirTyreInatorhasbeencorrectlyassembled,andthecorrectcoupling(7or8)has
beensecurelytightened
2. Connectthehosecouplerfromtheaircompressor(notsupplied)tothecoupling
Preparing the tyre
Removethevalvecover(ifapplicable)andcheckthevalveiscompatiblewiththeSchraderValve
Connector(1)
Note:TheAirTyreInatorisonlycompatiblewithSchradervalves(Americanvalves).
Cleanthevalveifnecessaryandensureitisfreefromdirtanddust.
IMPORTANT: Ensurethetyresarecoolbeforetakingapressurereadingorcarryingoutination.
Warmtyres(i.e.thosewhichhavejustbeeninuse)willbeatahigherpressurethannormaland
maygivemisleadingreadings.
Operation
Note:Tooperatethistool,anaircompressororcleanpressurisedairisrequired(see‘Airsupply
connection’).
WARNING:Ensuretheairsupplypressuredoesnotexceedthemaximumoperatingpressure
statedin‘Specications’.
WARNING:Beawarethatairtoolsmayholdresidualpressureafteruse.Alwaysbleedair
pressurefromthetoolaftershuttingoffairsupply.
Inating tyres
IMPORTANT: Alwaysrefertothetyremanufacturer’srecommendedinationpressures,anddo
notoverinate.
1. FittheSchraderValveConnector(1)tothetyrevalve
2. WiththeSchraderValveConnectorattachedsecurely,presstheAirTrigger(5)toinatethetyre
Note: Inatethetyreinfrequentshorterburstsofair.Thiswillallowmorecontrolofthetyre
inationandminimisetheriskofoverinatingthetyre.ReleasingtheAirTriggerwilldisplaythe
tyre’scurrentairpressureonthePressureGauge(3).
3. Ifthetyreisinatedtoomuch,releasethepressureanddeatethetyrebypressingtheAir
ReleaseValve(4)
4. Oncethedesiredtyrepressureisachieved,disconnecttheSchraderValveConnectorfrom
thetyre
Notes:
UsethePressureGauge(3)asanapproximateguidetothepressurelevel.Ifaspecic
pressurelevelisrequired,useacalibratedpressuregaugeorgaugethatismanufacturedto
BSEN12645:1999.
Thisproductisnotsuitableforuseasaspraygunoranyotherapplicationforwhichitisnot
designed.
Afterinatingtyres,remembertoreplacethetyre’svalvecovers,whichprotectthevalvefrom
dustanddirt.
Maintenance
WARNING:Alwaysdisconnectfromtheairsupplyanddepressurisebeforecleaningorcarrying
outanymaintenance.
Note: Thereisverylittlethatcangowrongwithyourairtoolanditshouldbenotedthatwhenanair
toolfailstoworkitisgenerallybecausetheinternalworkingshavecorrodedduetodirty,wetairand
failuretofollowtheoperatinginstructions.
Cleaning
Keepyourtoolcleanatalltimes.Dirtanddustwillcauseinternalpartstowearquickly,and
shortenthetool’sservicelife.Cleanthebodyofyourtoolwithasoftbrush,ordrycloth.
Lubrication
Eventhoughtheairpassagesoftheairtoolmustremainfreeofoilandothercontaminants,
somecomponentsrequirefrequentlubrication
Slightlylubricateallsealingsurfaces,packings,bearingsanddynamicO-ringswithaspecialised
airtoollube,andapplyasmallamountofpetroleumjellytospringsandpins,suchastheAir
Trigger(5)
Storage
• Storethistoolcarefullyinasecure,dryplaceoutofthereachofchildren
• Alwaysdisconnecttoolandshutofairsupplybeforestorage
