source of ignition. Do not start your en-
gines, the generator or any devices that
could create a spark. Contact your Dealer
or Customer Service Department immedi-
ately. If hoses need to be replaced, make
sure that only USCG TYPE A1 are used.
TYPE A2 is not acceptable for fuel distri-
bution.
Fuel Supply Valves
If your 34C is powered by gasoline en-
gines, it is equipped with an anti-siphon
valves, located on each fuel supply hose
at its connection to its respective fuel tank
pickup tube. The purpose of the anti-si-
phon valve is to immediately stop the ow
of fuel from the fuel tank in the event of
a break in the fuel supply hose. The anti-
siphon valves are automatic and do not
require manual operation.
Fuel Filtration
The fuel that is supplied to the engines
and generator (if so equipped) may con-
tain impurities found in the fuel tanks or
contained in the fuel from your supplier.
If these impurities are not removed prior
to entering the engines/generator, perfor-
mance may be seriously affected. Remov-
al of the fuel impurities is accomplished
by external fuel
lters, which are located
within the fuel supply line.
If your 34C is equipped with gasoline en-
gines, each engine has its own separate
fuel lter, located on the forward inboard
side of the engine.
If your 34C is equipped with diesel en-
gines, each engine has a separate fuel
lter located away from the engine.
If your 34C is equipped with a genera-
tor, a remote fuel lter with a fuel shut-off
valve is located in the main generator fuel
supply line, separate from the engine fuel
supply lines. The photo below shows the
generator fuel lter.
An Authorized Silverton Service Techni-
cian should replace all fuel lters annually
prior to spring launch.
