Function tests Section 4 – Inspections Before Operation
4.3-21 Do a test of the positive air shutoff
(optional equipment)
CAUTION
Do not do this function test while the engine is on.
WARNING
Burn hazard. Do not touch hot engine components
without the correct PPE. Let the engine cool before
you do an inspection or servicing. If you do not
obey, there is a risk of death or serious injury.
1. Make sure these power connections are ON:

The main power disconnect switch
▪
The emergency-stop button on the base
control console
▪
The off/base/platform key switch is in the
base position.
2. Make sure the engine is off.
3. Open the engine compartment cover.
4. Lift the switch guard for the positive air shutoff
on the engine control console.
5. Move the positive air shut-off switch

to the
on position to engage the shutoff valve

6. Move the positive air shut-off switch
11
to the
off position to disengage the shutoff valve

The light

continuously illuminates.
▪
Result: The shutoff valve disengages after 20
seconds.
7. Make sure the positive air shut-off switch

is
put back to the off position, and that the switch
guard is down. Push the engine compartment
cover until the latch locks into position.
