To adjust the energy-saving settings for the Windows operating system:

From the
Start
menu, point to
Settings
and then select
Control Panel
.

From the Control Panel window, double-click
Display.
The
Display Properties
dialog box opens to the Background tab.

Select the Screen Saver tab.

Ensure
None
is selected in the
Screen Saver
area.

Press the Settings button in the
Energy saving features of monitor
or press the Power
button in the
Monitor power
area.
The Power Management Properties or Power Options Properties dialog box opens to the
Power Schemes tab.

In the
Power schemes
area, select
Always On
.

In the
System standby
area, select
Never
. Depending on your operating system, you
may need to clear the
Enable hibernate
box.

In the
Turn off monitor
area or in the
Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme
area, select
After 30 mins
.

In the
Turn off hard disks
area, select
After 2 hours
.

Click OK to close this dialog box and then click OK to close the
Display Properties
dialog
box.
To set the resolution on a Macintosh computer:

Click the Monitors button on the Control Panel strip and select
Open Monitors Control
Panel
.
or
Open the Apple menu, select
Control Panels
and then select
Monitors
.
The Monitors window for your computer opens.
