7.3 AUGER HOUSING OVERHAUL
A. Top Cover is loose due to broken Tabs or
Tab Slots. (See Figure 7.2 for example).
(1) Tilt Snow Thrower back on Handlebar.
(2) From underside, drill through Auger
Housing and Top Cover at locations
shown in Figure 7.3.
(3) F asten Top Cover to Auger Housing
with screws and locknuts.
B. Belt Guard is loose due to stripped-out
Retaining Screws.
(1) R emove three (3) screws from front and
two (2) muffler nuts from rear of Belt
Guard. Remove Belt Guard.
(2) D rill through screw holes in bosses on
Auger Housing.
(3) Fasten Belt Guard to Auger Housing with
screws and locknuts in front, then replace
muffler nuts in the rear. See Figure 7.4.
(1) Tilt Snow Thrower back on Handlebar.
(2) Drill out Scraper Bar retaining rivets (use
a 5/16" drill to just "touch" the rolled-ends
of the rivets - this will separate the caps,
allowing the rivets to be removed).

(3) Install new Scraper Blade with kit
hardware. (KIT #61235 - 17" - #61236 - 19").
