4. Battery precautions
When checking/handling the battery, stop the engine and turn
the start switch to the "off" position.
Wipe off the dust accumulated on the top of the battery with a
damp cloth.
The battery generates hydrogen gas, which may cause an
explosion hazard. Do not bring cigarettes or other fires close to the
battery or take any action that may cause sparks.
The battery fluid is dilute sulfuric acid, which will corrode
clothing and skin. If the battery fluid comes into contact with your
clothes or skin, please wash it off immediately with plenty of water. If
battery fluid gets into your eyes, immediately wash your eyes with
clean water and consult a doctor.
When handling the battery, please wear goggles and rubber
gloves, and disconnect the ground terminal (usually the (-) terminal)
to remove the battery. On the contrary, connect the (+) terminal first
when installing the battery.。
Loose battery terminals can cause sparks due to poor contact,
resulting in an explosion hazard. Please tighten when installing the
terminal.
When replacing the battery, please fix the battery to prevent the
battery from shifting. If not fixed, the terminals will loosen and sparks
will be generated.
When removing and installing the battery, please confirm the (+)
and (-) terminals.
