10. Rotate the backplate to disengage the backplate pins from
the adapter pins. Remove the backplate with the gasket
attached, by pulling it straight off the adapter.
NOTE: T
ake care to protect the sealing face and edges of the
backplate from nicks and scratches.
11. Remove the backplate gasket and inspect it for wear and
sealing failure. Replace the gasket if necessary.
12. Pull the carbon seal, O-ring, seal cup, and spring straight off
the stub shaft to remove them.
13. Remove the seal O-ring from the seal. Discard and replace
the O-ring.
