9.4 Replace the air filter element
Replace interval Every 6 months or 500 hours
If the genset is used in dusty area, the air filter element should
be replaced frequently and the air filter cover must be cleaned
at same time. Dirty air filter element will prevent air flowing into
the genset and cause difficult starting, insufficient power, black
smoke and consume more fuel and oil.
CAUTION
• Never run the engine without proper air filter element
or with a defective element.
9.5 Clean and replace fuel filter
The fuel filter also has to be cleaned regularly to insure maximum engine output.
Clean interval Every 6 months or 500 hours
Replace interval Every year or 1000 hours
10. LONG-TERM STORAGE
lf store the generating set for long periods, make the following preparations.
1. Operate the engine for about 3 minutes and then stop.
2. Stop the engine. Drain the engine oil while the engine is stilI warm and fill with fresh oil.
3. Remove the screw plug on the cylinder head cover and refill 2cc engine oil, then put the
plug in place.
4. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank completely and clean and sediment inside the tank.
5. Wipe off dirt and grease from the genset. Add lubrication oil to the bearings and connection
of the governor system.
6. Remove the battery terminal wires first from negative pole and them positive pole.
7. Check and servcie the genset per the maintenance schedule prior to storage.
8. Cover the genset with a plastic cover to keep water and dust away from the genset. Use
additional protective equipment for outdoor storage.
9. Store the genset in a well-ventilated area and free from moisture and dust.
10. Perform the steps in Chapter 4 before starting genset after a long-term storage.
11. TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault Cause Remedy
The diesel
engine can not
start
Fuel oil is not sufficient Refill the fuel
Fuel cock is not at START position Turn it to START position
Fuel injection pump and nozzle do not delivery the
fuel or delivery in-sufficient fuel.
Remove the nozzle and repair at test table.
The governor lever is not at START position. Set the lever to START positon
Check the engine oil level. The specified oil level should be between the
upper level and lower level.
The nozzle has dirty. Clean the nozzle
The speed and force to pull the recoil starter are Start the engine according to the start
