How to troubleshoot lack of performance in Stepp Industrial Equipment?
    • H
      Heather ColemanAug 3, 2025
If your Stepp Industrial Equipment shows a lack of performance, several factors could be the cause. Start by servicing the strainer screen. If the issue persists, replace the hydraulic oil filter. Other potential causes include a collapsed suction hose (which should be replaced, along with servicing the strainer screen), an air leak in the suction hose (replace the hose), or a low fluid level (fill the reservoir to the proper level). Overheated hydraulic fluid can also be a factor; clean the oil cooler fins with pressurized water. In some cases, the pump or hydraulic motor may be worn, requiring adjustment, rebuilding, or replacement. Check for crushed hydraulic lines and replace them if necessary. Finally, ensure the “Brand” valve relief is correctly adjusted to 1000 lbs.

If you notice unusual noises coming from your Stepp Industrial Equipment, it could be due to several reasons. First, check the hydraulic fluid level and fill the reservoir to the proper level if it's low. Another possible cause is an air leak in the suction hose, which would require replacing the hose. Lastly, damaged pump or hydraulic motors could be the source of the noise, and they may need repair or replacement.

What to do if the product pump does not turn on Stepp SBF?
    • G
      Greg HarrisonAug 15, 2025
If the product pump on your Stepp Industrial Equipment isn't turning, first ensure that the product in the tank has fully melted by allowing it more time. Also, check for any foreign material jamming the product pump and remove it. If these steps don't resolve the issue, refer to the “Hydraulic System” troubleshooting section for further assistance, as the pump motor may not be functioning correctly.

Why is there a lack of flow from the wand of Stepp SBF Industrial Equipment?

      jonesmatthewAug 21, 2025
If you're experiencing a lack of flow from the wand of your Stepp Industrial Equipment, several factors could be responsible. Ensure the product temperature isn't too cold by heating it to the manufacturer's recommended temperature. If the product has frozen in the wand and hose, allow additional time for the heating element to melt it. For a non-functioning heat element in the hose, refer to the “Electric Wand & Hose” troubleshooting section. Check that the WPC valve is positioned correctly by referring to the operating instructions. If the WPC valve and external plumbing have frozen, apply heat to remelt the product. Lastly, a worn product pump may be the cause, requiring adjustment or repair.

    • K
      Kelly BellAug 27, 2025
