4.3 Sterilize the
Handle
4.3.1 Uninstall the Handle Press two lateral safety keys of the handle and extract the handle
itself.
4.3.2 Clean the Handle Clean the handle using a detergent with medium alkaline and no
active chlorine.
4.3.3 Disinfect the Handle Disinfect the handle using alcohol or aldehyde-based products.
NOTE: The disinfectants must be approved by the manufacturer for
use on polysulfone (PSU).
4.3.4 Sterilize the Handle 1. Rinse the handle.
2. Put handle upright with open side facing downward.
3. Sterilize handle:
• steam sterilization at 250°F (121°C), 19 psig (1.3 bar) for 25-
30 minutes
or
• steam sterilization at 273°F (134°C) 33 psig (2.3 bar) for four
minutes
Important: Do not exceed sterilization temperature of 273°F (134°C).
NOTE: The handle can be sterilized up to 300 steam sterilization
cycles.
4.3.5 Install the Handle Insert the handle until the safety keys lock in place.
