front position (forward driving direction).
(Ö 8.9)
● Disengage the parking brake, if
engaged. (Ö 8.14)
● By pressing the drive pedal, the driving
speed is regulated and the machine
moves forwards.
● Activating cruise control:
Maintain the required driving speed and
press the cruise control button for 1
second. (Ö 8.7)
Cruise control is activated when the
"cruise control active" symbol appears
on the display and the drive pedal is

possible to increase the set driving
speed by pressing on the drive pedal.
● The foot can be removed from the drive
pedal.
● Deactivating cruise control:
Press the brake pedal or cruise control
button. (Ö 8.7)
Cruise control is deactivated when the
"cruise control active" symbol

13.5 Braking
● Reduce the driving speed by easing the
pressure on the drive pedal – avoid
braking abruptly at the maximum
driving speed. (Ö 8.12)
● Press the brake pedal down evenly until
the machine comes to a
standstill. (Ö 8.13)
13.6 Adjusting the cutting height
● Brake the machine to a complete

13.7 Mowing
Before mowing:
● Read and observe the section "Notes
on working with the machine". (Ö 11.)
● Always set the maximum engine speed
during mowing. The mowing blade is
optimised for this speed – it produces
the best cutting pattern as well as the
most powerful suction effect for
collection of the clippings.
Engage the mowing deck in the
following sequence:
● Start the engine. (Ö 13.2)
● Set the throttle lever to the MAX
position. (Ö 8.2), (Ö 8.3)
Risk of injury!
Adjust the cutting height only when
the ride-on mower is at a standstill.
Level 1 Lowest cutting height
Level 8 Highest cutting height
RT 5112 Z, RT 6112 C,
RT 6112 ZL, RT 6127 ZL:
STIHL recommends mounting the
two gauge wheels in a lower bore.
In the lowest position, the gauge
wheels increase the distance
between the mowing deck and the
ground, ensuring an optimum
supply of air. The result is a more
attractive cutting pattern and better
collecting performance.
If the mowing deck is engaged
when driving, the engine speed is
briefly reduced due to the additional
load (mowing blades starting to
rotate).
