Chapter 4: Motherboard Connections
M.2 Connectors
The M.2 connector (PCIe M.2) supports M.2 devices such as memory cards, wireless

as NGFF). This particular PCIe M.2 supports M-Key (PCIe x4) storage cards. Form factors

Disk-On-Module Power Connector
The Disk-On-Module (DOM) power connectors at JSD0 and JSD1 provide 5V power to a
solid-state DOM storage device connected to one of the SATA ports. See the table below for


SATA Ports
The H12DSi-N6/H12DSi-NT6 has eight standard onboard SATA3 ports (SATA0 through
SATA7) on two iPASS connectors that are supported by CPU1 and CPU2. (CPU1: SATA0~3,
CPU2: SATA4~7).)
SuperDOM
The SUPERDOM1 and SUPERDOM2 ports are Supermicro SATA DOM (Disk on Module)

directly into the mothrboard.
Battery
The onboard battery provides backup power to the on chip CMOS, which stores the BIOS'
setup information. It also provides power to the Real Time Clock (RTC) to keep it running.
