1.7.4 Log File
System Logging messages can be stored as a log file in a switch’s NVRAM.
Follow the steps below to enable storing logs in a file.
Step Command Description
Enters the configuration mode

to 32 characters.
Short – Specifies entries that can be
stored in a file from 1-8000.
Exits the configuration mode.

The example below shows the commands used to enable storing logs in a file.
SMIS# configure terminal
SMIS(config)# logging file log1
SMIS(config)# end
SMIS# show logging file
