10. Specifications
Related Specifications: Pour point test standards: ASTM D 6749, D97, ISO 3016
Cloud point test standards: ASTM D 2500, ISO 3015
Type: Bench Top, Air cooled (MPC-102A) or Liquid cooled (MPC-102L), Single position
Testing Limitations: MPC-102A 51°C to -30°C (at room temperature: 20°C)
PC-102L 51°C to -65°C (when -35°C coolant is circulated using the optional
Coolant Circulation Device TCU-40)
51°C to -40°C (with tap water)
Built-In Testing Modes: 25 built-in modes
Preheating System: Built-in preheating function for heating the bath to either 45°C or "10°C above the
Expected pour/cloud point", whichever is higher, before cooling
Program Control System: Sequence control by microcomputer
Display Type: Fluorescent display (VFD module). Temperature display: Units of 0.1°C
Temperature Sensor: Platinum resistance sensor, 100/0°C (Pt100)
Detector Unit: Compound detector (Temperature sensor, pour point sensor, and cloud point
sensor assembled in a resin detector housing)
Temperature Sensor: Platinum resistance thermometer sensor consisting of two stainless sheath
elements 100/0°C (PT100)
Pour Point Sensor: Detection Method: Changes in the specimen surface by applying fine pressure
via a pressure conducting tube detected by a pressure switch (micro pressure
sensor) (Patented)
Air Pressure System: A pressurizing syringe and solenoid valve
Testing Intervals: Every 1°C, 2.5°C, or 3°C (Selection by mode)
Cloud point sensor: Detection Method: Detects light reflected from a reflector located on the bottom
of the specimen cup
Photoelectric detector: Consists of a LED, phototransistor, and light-receiving
amplifier
Testing Interval: Every 1°C or 0.1°C (selectable)
Testing Container: Flat-bottom borosilicate-1 (21×45L) specimen cup with a reference mark for
4-ml specimen
Reflection seal attach to the bottom for cloud point detection
Temperature Control Unit: Structure: Aluminum block cooled with Peltier cooler
Cooling rate: Separate setting from 1 to 5 °C/min (in increments of 1 °C/min) for
temperatures above and below a switching temperature
(13)
. Depending on
temperature range and radiation efficiency, actual cooling rates may be lower
than selected. The instrument is shipped with cooling rates of 4 °C /min above
the switching temperature and 1°C /min below.
Note(
13
)The cooling rate switching temperature can be changed relative to the Expected
